This is somehow heartbreaking.  On feeling always awkward.

A serious, Nobel winning economist goes all populist in print. And he says we are past the tipping point where the richest of the rich have gained control of all the levers of power.  And they are not giving back.  Who would?

Iggy Pop and the Stooges Backstage Rider.  A dozen pages of very specific instructions, including amps that have not been pissed on by the “Insane Clown Pussies” and a monitor man who is “not afraid of death.”

Buddhism, too,  requires a leap of faith too great to make when it comes to reincarnation.

Curveballs are even trickier than I thought, why Sandy Koufax killed.

Earworm:  the 80’s were the Mt Smokey of popular music.  Overproduced love ballads, epic sax guy, keyboard solos…it was grim times in Smalltown USA and we knew it.  Maybe no band jumped deeper into the suckhole of synth and hairspray than Van Halen, so this cover was the most welcome piece of music I had ever heard in 1985:

And he says we are past the tipping point: the richest of the rich have captured all the levers of power in govt. And nobody ever gives that back. Why would they?
